WEICHERT, REALTORS® - PLATINUM SERVICE BRINGS MAJOR BRAND TO THREE-COUNTY MARKET   Annapolis Junction, Md., September 12, 2007—Veteran home builders, land developers, and real estate agency owners Bill Boettner and Doug Milburn are now owners of the newest area franchise with Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc.  The partners announced the launch of WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Platinum Service at 10830 Guilford Road in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The company, sandwiched in the middle of the D.C./Baltimore corridor, Milburn explained, serves Howard, Prince George’s and Anne Arundel Counties with several sales associates on board and room to grow. “The process by which Weichert utilizes systems is exactly what we needed,” Boettner said of the decision to become an independent owner of a franchise with the rapidly expanding organization.  “We have sought to grow and improve our position,” Milburn added.  “Weichert’s structure and focus on the customer experience work!” he said, noting that the systems, training and ongoing support for agents “are also essential.”  Weichert Real Estate Affiliates introduced announced its first franchised office in January 2002 and now serves more than 330 markets in 32 states.  The full-service organization includes mortgage and insurance services, a commercial and investments division, an award-winning Internet lead-generation platform, and a multinational relocation company.  Support services are highlighted by an ongoing agent and management training program, along with in-house marketing and advertising, dedicated public relations and REALTOR® recruitment.  Boettner and Milburn were joined in the announcement by Weichert Affiliates President Martin J. Rueter.  “As we expand throughout this market, it is important that we add companies and people of the caliber of Bill and Doug, whose reputation for outstanding service is in keeping with the Weichert way of doing business,” Rueter said.     Boettner’s 30 years in real estate began with Ryan Homes, a national home building company based in the D.C. area.   Armed with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in business administration from American University in D.C. prior to becoming a licensed Realtor, he began a 12-year up-the-ranks experience through production, sales and marketing, management.  He met Milburn while at Ryan, and the two formed William Douglas Homes specifically “to create a home building/real estate company to assist customers who are buying and selling, then to branch off into general brokerage,” Milburn said.  The home building business, as well as land development, “are still significant parts of what we do,” Boettner said.  “The added strength of franchise support from Weichert enables us to maintain the highest level of professionalism in these endeavors, as well as in the real estate sales arena.” Milburn’s career in the field began immediately after he had earned a construction/management degree from VirginiaTech.  From a 10-year stint with Ryan Homes in both construction and sales, he moved to two other companies before joining Boettner in the independent move. Boettner is the company’s Broker.  He holds a GRI designation (Graduate, REALTORS® Institute).  Both partners are member of the Howard County Association of Realtors®, Home Builders Association of Maryland, National Association of REALTORS® and National Association of Homebuilders.
